Biography:
Kimberly MacKinnon Brumirski is an attorney who limits her practice to Domestic Relations and Family Law. She graduated in 2004 from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and is currently working towards an L.L.M. (Master of Laws) degree in Family Law. While a student at Chicago-Kent, Kimberly worked for the Law Review and was named Administrative Staff Person of the Year in 2003. Also in 2003, she received the CALI award (for highest grade in the class) in Family Law. Kimberly worked in the Family Law Clinic at Chicago-Kent while a law student. Upon graduation, she worked as the Staff Attorney for the Family Law Clinic.
Kimberly earned a B.A. in English from the University of Dallas in 1996. She spent a semester studying in Rome, Italy. Kimberly also played on the women’s soccer team, and was editor-in-chief of the University News. While in Dallas, Kimberly interned for the Editorial Department of the Dallas Morning News and published two articles while working there.
Prior to attending law school, Kimberly worked in non-profit management and development. She served as a VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) with the Chicago Alliance for Neighborhood Safety. She also earned a Certificate in Domestic Violence Counseling from the Chicago Abused Women’s Coalition, and a Certificate in Community Organizing from Midwest Academy.
Kimberly lives in the Western suburbs of Chicago with her husband and son.
