Chicago native, Sander D. Levin is both a CPA and an attorney. He is the founding partner of Levin & Brend with more than 30 years of experience. In 1976 he incorporated his law firm and approximately 15 years later, when Mr. Brend became a partner, the firm name was changed to Levin & Brend, P.C. Sander D. Levin practices in the following areas of law: Taxation, Commodities, Corporate Law, Family Law and Estate Planning.
In 1974 Mr. Levin earned his J.D. from Loyola University and was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He was also admitted to the U.S. Tax Court in 1986 and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims in 1997.
Among Mr. Levin’s professional memberships are the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations, the Decalogue Society, the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Association of Attorneys Certified Public Accountants and the Business Valuation Association.
Mr. Levin was a Chicago Mercantile Exchange commodity trader for nine years and has served as a member of the CME Board of Governors. Currently Mr. Levin is a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange IMM and IOM Divisions.
After graduating from Roosevelt University with a B.S./B.A in 1971 Mr. Levin took his C.P.A. exam and was awarded the Silver Medal by the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants for scoring the second highest grade in Illinois and he was also awarded an Elijah Watt Sells Honorable Mention by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for scoring among the top forty candidates in United States on the May, 1971 national C.P.A. examination.
