  • Jeffrey Brend, a partner at Levin & Brend since 1991, is both a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney who focuses his practice in the following areas: Family Law, Taxation, Business Litigation, Business Valuation, and Forensic Accounting.

    Mr. Brend has the notable distinction of being the only person in the country who is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and affiliated with the American Society of Appraisers and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has been qualified as a financial expert to value businesses and complete forensic financial investigations throughout the Chicagoland area. In addition, Mr. Brend is an AAML Certified Family Law Arbitrator and is currently serving as President of the AAML Illinois Chapter. He was previously chair of the Matrimonial Law Committee for the Chicago Bar Association.

    In 2005 Mr. Brend joined the adjunct faculty at Chicago-Kent School of Law. He has authored many articles about business valuation, forensic accounting and child custody issues. As a speaker on financial issues affecting divorce, child custody and other issues relating to domestic relations, Mr. Brend is known throughout Illinois and nationally.

    Mr. Brend is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Illinois Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Court and the U.S. Tax Court.

    He earned his J.D. from the John Marshall Law School and received his B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.
